Plan

Warrior Refuge Georgia, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families across North Georgia. Our motto is "Breaking Bread Breaks Barriers." We bring people together around a shared table, and each month we give out family meal boxes to military and first responder families who are struggling to make ends meet.

We are looking for a property to lease in Bartow County, the Cartersville area, or nearby, with room for a vegetable garden and an outdoor space where our people can slow down, work with their hands, and heal. We also need a building or farmhouse with a kitchen and room to host community dinners. We'd consider a working farm willing to share a portion of its land, a farmhouse on acreage, or an event barn.

We are looking for raised beds or an in-ground vegetable garden, a quiet outdoor space for small groups, and a monthly family meal. The produce we grow goes into the meal boxes for local families.

Desired Transitional Agreement

  • Lease
  • Cooperative Model
  • Business Partnership

Description of Desired Transitional Agreement

We're open to either a lease or a partnership with a landowner or farm family who shares our heart for veterans, first responders, and their families. That could be a traditional lease of 1 to 3 years with the option to renew, or leasing part of a working farm while the owner continues farming the rest. It could also be a shared-use agreement where we use the land and a kitchen or gathering space on set days, or a growing partnership where the owner shares their land and knowledge, our volunteers help plant and tend, and the harvest feeds local military and first responder families through our monthly meal boxes. Landowners who partner with us are recognized as community partners and are always welcome at our dinners and events. We're also open to a lease-to-own or long-term arrangement down the road if it fits both sides. Whatever we agree on, we'll put it in a clear written agreement covering how the land is used, upkeep, insurance, and access, so everyone knows what to expect.
