Plan
Ubuntu Grove is seeking 2–10 acres of farmable land in Macon County, Georgia. We are a Black-led, regenerative farming operation founded by Antwon D. Manson Jr. and Maurice O. Sampson Sr., two lifelong friends on a mission to build generational wealth, restore community through agriculture, and heal the land through ancestral practices rooted in sustainability.
Our goal is to identify landowners—particularly older farmers who may be ready to retire or who don’t have heirs to pass their land down to—who are open to:
• Owner financing
• Lease-to-own agreements
• Partnerships, mentorships, or stewardship arrangements
Ubuntu Grove will focus on regenerative livestock grazing, cultural food crop cultivation, land-based education, and community empowerment through eco-conscious farming. We’re not just looking for land—we’re looking for a long-term relationship with the soil, the community, and the legacy of those who’ve come before us.
We’re especially interested in parcels with:
• Some existing infrastructure or access to water (wells, irrigation, or surface water)
• Pastureland or lightly wooded areas (we’re open to clearing or restoring land as needed)
• Proximity to rural townships like Montezuma or Ideal, with access to a nearby urban center for distribution and outreach
We’re building Ubuntu Grove from the ground up—literally and spiritually—with transparency, grit, and reverence. If you or someone you know is looking to transition land to the next generation of responsible stewards, please reach out. Let’s plant something powerful together.

Additional Information on Produce or Livestock Needs
At Ubuntu Grove, our agricultural model is rooted in regenerative practices that restore soil health, promote biodiversity, and build a sustainable local food system. Our initial focus includes:
Livestock Goals
• Heritage Breed Cattle & Goats: Raised using rotational grazing to rebuild soil fertility and reduce parasite load without chemical dependence.
• Free-Range Poultry: Chickens and ducks for both eggs and meat, integrated into pasture systems for pest control and nitrogen cycling.
• Composting Systems: Utilizing manure and organic matter to enrich soil and close waste loops.
Produce Goals
• Heirloom and Culturally Significant Crops: Specializing in soul food staples (collards, okra, sweet potatoes, black-eyed peas) alongside Indigenous and African diasporic crops.
• Polyculture Systems: Intercropping and companion planting designed to mimic natural ecosystems, reduce erosion, and enhance yield.
• Fruit Trees & Perennials: Long-term investment in fruit-bearing trees (figs, persimmons, muscadines) and nitrogen-fixing species for land restoration.
Community Engagement
• Eventually, we will establish a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, host on-farm learning days for youth and families, and serve as a model for Black-led land stewardship in the South.
Our mission is more than just producing food—it’s about reconnecting people to the land, nourishing our community, and protecting the earth for the next generation.
