My plan is invest buying to raise sheep, keep honeybees, and grow a variety of healthy vegetables to supply fresh, nutritious food and agricultural products to the local community. I aim to use sustainable farming practices, including soil conservation, composting, crop rotation, responsible water management, and pollinator protection, to maintain soil fertility, improve land quality, and support biodiversity.
By developing multiple sources of farm income through the sale of vegetables, honey, and sheep-related products, I hope to build a financially sustainable business, create opportunities to serve the local community, and reinvest profits into improving farm infrastructure, productivity, and long-term land value. With hold a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences and have professional experience working as a teacher, which has strengthened my knowledge of biology, environmental science, and sustainable practices. In addition to my academic background, I have substantial hands-on experience with farming and a strong interest in sustainable agriculture. I am looking to transition my career into farming to combine my scientific knowledge and practical experience to grow healthy, nutritious food while protecting soil quality, conserving natural resources, and promoting long-term food sustainability. My goal is to establish a productive, environmentally responsible farm that supports community well-being, improves land health, and contributes to a more sustainable food system.
I have computer skills in bookkeeping and farm management software to track expenses, income, inventory, production, and sales to improve efficiency and profitability. I know how to use online platforms, social media, and a farm website to connect with the local community, promote my vegetables, honey, and meat products, and build strong customer relationships. These digital tools will help expand my market reach across the county and state, increase sales, improve product distribution, and support the long-term growth and sustainability of my farm.
