Plan
I’m a small CSA farmer. I’ve been growing various vegetables off and on for about 10 years, but never at scale. Just as a hobby and to learn. I started growing in the ground in 2020 and have been slowly scaling up since then. In 2025 I had customers from my day job who were aware of my hobby ask me to start growing food for them. Enough people asked that I decided to do a CSA in 2026. I offered it to 10 families and 3 said yes. It was successful. It ran April-July. And with the proper planning and execution I feel reasonably confident I could also do a fall CSA that would be about 10 weeks long. With a green house I believe I could eventually get to year round production. I have some experience with goats and chickens/ducks also. I raised a some meat birds and processed them myself this year. During my spring/summer CSA 8 more families asked me to let them in on my CSA the next time I opened it up. My current land isn’t large enough to support my goal which is to transition to full time farming. The way my CSA is designed, customers are paying premium prices for food because what I grow you can’t buy in a grocery. Better than organic practices. Industrial chemical free, fresh and delivered. My market/customer base is in Alpharetta and so I would prefer to stay within an hour of that area.
My goal is to run a small scale Market Garden that focuses on vegetable production for local families and restaurants with value added products available, find ways to get clean fresh produce to people who for financial reasons couldn’t otherwise afford it, steward a piece of land ethically and responsibly in order to continue its production capabilities long term and to build meaningful relationships with the community I am a part of. I do want to be clear, I’m new “new” at this. I can see it working but I’m still learning. I do this work alone(though needing to hire help would be a good problem to have.), I’d love an opportunity to expand and transition to full time but I’m not necessarily in a rush. I’d like to find what feels like a long term arrangement rather than just starting and hoping for the best. Ultimately, what I’m looking for is connection, to the earth and the other people around me. Small scale farming is where I’ve found the most meaningful level of that connection and I want to keep heading that direction. To grow and connect more.
Desired Transitional Agreement
Description of Desired Transitional Agreement
I’m open to hearing all options because I don’t have an “it has to be this way” attitude about what’s possible. That being said, if I were going to start but also need to keep my day job, I’d want to live on the property.

Additional Information on Produce or Livestock Needs
These are all things I’m interested in but not necessarily interested in managing alone.
Ex: would love to get a beekeeper on a property with some sort of mutual exchange, but I don’t want to learn beekeeping myself currently.

Additional Info on Experience/Education
I have attended a journeyman farmers course.
I have attended some online farming courses from The Market Garden Institute. And am willing to take the full course if and when I feel it would be necessary.
I have built a network of farmers from here and around the country that I communicate with pretty regularly to help in my education.
