Description of Desired Transitional Agreement
I'm a Columbus, GA resident and small business owner (I run Stewart Housing & Community Solutions LLC, a housing-focused company, and manage rental properties). I relocated from New Jersey to support my son through high school, and I'm now moving into the next chapter of building something rooted and lasting for myself.
I'm a beginning farmer looking to establish a small homestead — starting with a vegetable garden and a chicken coop, with room to grow over time. My background is in housing and community work, so I understand property, land use, and long-term planning, but I'm new to hands-on farming and eager to learn.
I'm looking for a landowner open to a lease-to-own arrangement who wants to see their land actively used and cared for by someone building toward ownership, not just renting short-term.
What I'm Hoping to Do With the Land
- Establish a home garden (vegetables, possibly expanding to small-scale produce)
- Raise backyard chickens
- Long-term: build a home on the property and put down permanent roots
- Open to learning about additional small-scale agricultural use as I grow into the property
