Plan
We are a young, passionate family with over 40 years of combined experience in sustainable agriculture, livestock management, and farming. We are seeking to relocate to a non-coastal area in Georgia with 2 to 20 acres of land and housing for a larger family. Our plan is to establish a self-sufficient, sustainable ranch where we will implement regenerative farming practices, including mushroom cultivation, permaculture, agroforestry, and ethical livestock management. We aim to cultivate a variety of crops, raise ethical livestock, and engage in sustainable beekeeping, all while educating the local community through workshops, farm tours, and hands-on experiences. Our goal is to steward the land responsibly while producing high-quality, sustainable food and building strong community relationships.
Desired Transitional Agreement
Description of Desired Transitional Agreement
We are looking for a landowner or farm operation who is open to a transitional arrangement where we can gradually take over the management of the farm. Ideally, we would like to start by leasing the land with an option to purchase over time. This transition would allow us to learn the specific nuances of the land, its resources, and any existing infrastructure while establishing our agricultural operations. We are open to collaborating with the current landowner for a smooth transition and are eager to bring our experience in sustainable agriculture to improve the property.

Additional Information on Produce or Livestock Needs
- Crops: We aim to cultivate a variety of vegetables, herbs, and mushrooms. Our focus will be on organic, regenerative farming practices, including crop rotation, permaculture techniques, and agroforestry to maintain soil health and biodiversity. We are also interested in producing herbs and vegetables that cater to local markets and restaurants. Additionally, we plan to grow pine trees for ecological management and potential timber or resale.
- Livestock: Our livestock goals include raising cows, chickens, and alpacas. We are committed to ethical livestock management practices, ensuring humane treatment and sustainability. We are particularly interested in using alpacas for fiber production, chickens for egg and meat production, and cows for grass-fed beef.
- Beekeeping: We also plan to raise bees for honey production and support local pollinator populations. We are committed to sustainable beekeeping practices that align with regenerative farming goals.
- Hay Production: We aim to manage hay production as part of our livestock feed, contributing to the self-sufficiency of the ranch and supporting sustainable practices in land management.
- Timber Farming: We are interested in growing pine trees as part of our farming operation. We are quick learners and eager to gain knowledge about timber farming practices to integrate this into our sustainable land stewardship plan.
