Plan

My name is Doris Bawak, and I am a beginning farmer currently in search of farmland in Georgia.

I am seeking approximately 5–10 acres of farmland, preferably available for a long-term lease, to establish a specialty pepper farming operation under my farm brand, Covenant Farms. My goal is to cultivate high-value chili varieties such as Carolina Reaper, Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia), Trinidad Scorpion, and Naga Morich as well as Habanerons and Cayenne peppers.

In the first phase of the farm, I plan to focus on open-field pepper production and sell fresh peppers to local markets and buyers. This will allow the operation to generate revenue while building the foundation for future expansion. Within the first two years, my objective is to expand production to 10 acres or more and begin processing part of the harvest into dried peppers and pepper powder as value-added products under the Covenant Farms brand.

My long-term vision is to build a vertically integrated pepper farming and processing operation that supplies specialty peppers and pepper products to food manufacturers, restaurants, retailers, and online customers.

Additional Info on Experience/Education

In addition to my farming plans, I bring a strong technical background that supports my long-term goals. I hold a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Process Technology. My training focuses on production systems, processing operations, and quality control, which will be valuable as the farm expands into pepper drying and food processing.

As a beginning farmer, I am eager to learn, build relationships within the agricultural community, and manage farmland responsibly while developing a sustainable operation.
