Plan
We are a veteran-led family on a mission to build a sustainable homestead in Georgia, where we can cultivate agriculture while raising our family. Our dream is to find farmland—ideally through a resource like GAFarmLink—that meets USDA standards and provides us with a foundation for growth. We envision starting with manageable livestock—potentially beef cattle—and expanding thoughtfully, ensuring sustainable practices from day one.
While I maintain my current job, my wife—who has a wealth of farming experience—will take the lead on daily farm operations. We want the farm to be a place where we teach our daughters the values of hard work, stewardship, and self-sufficiency—homeschooling them right on the land.
This endeavor is about more than just farming; it’s about creating a lifestyle that supports our family on a single income while building a legacy. Our long-term vision is to grow the farm into a full-time operation. We’re looking for the right piece of land to help us take this first step—one that will allow us to steward the land responsibly and eventually provide for our family full time.
Desired Transitional Agreement
Description of Desired Transitional Agreement
Our vision is to create a carefully paced transition toward full-time farming, blending stability with growth. Initially, I will continue in my current career, providing a reliable single income, while my wife—leveraging her extensive farming background—will manage the daily operations on the land. She will care for livestock, oversee crop cultivation, and homeschool our children right on the farm. This phased approach allows us to build the farm gradually, ensuring we balance financial security with growth.
At first, the farm will supplement our income, providing fresh produce, livestock, and a sense of self-sufficiency. As we expand, our goal is to scale sustainably, increasing productivity and profitability. Over time, as the farm becomes more established, we aim to fully transition our livelihoods. Eventually, the farm will not just be our income source, but our way of life—where we are fully present, tending the land, teaching our children, and building a legacy.
While my wife will lead the daily farm tasks, I will assist in management and planning. I have a background in biological sciences, though family responsibilities and rising costs shifted my path. With my associate’s in business management, I entered the business world, but I bring valuable knowledge of growing seasons, pest control regulations, and natural ecosystems. My role complements my wife’s expertise—supporting key decisions and ensuring our farm grows both responsibly and sustainably.

Additional Information on Produce or Livestock Needs
We don’t necessarily need to implement every type of produce or livestock right away. We’re open to opportunities based on what the current owner or operator may already be doing to grow their business. We plan to build upon that foundation, adapting and adding more as time passes and the farm evolves. We’re open to continuing with whatever the current owner already has in place. We’d love to build on their existing operations, learning from what’s working, and then expanding as time and experience allow.
Preferred Equipment and Infrastructure
Equipment and Infrastructure Details
At this stage, our infrastructure needs are relatively modest. We’re primarily looking for access to basic utilities—a way to connect to power and water—so we can start operations smoothly. That said, having housing directly on the land would be a game-changer. It would allow us to live fully on-site, immerse ourselves in the daily rhythms of the farm, and truly integrate our family life with the land. Though we can start small, a future home on the property is definitely part of the bigger picture. Please note that we don’t need all of these elements right away. They would simply be beneficial enhancements. Our immediate focus is starting small, and any additional infrastructure or amenities would simply support our growth over time.

Additional Info on Experience/Education
My wife’s story is one of deep-rooted agricultural experience and a lifelong connection to the land. From the age of nine through her early twenties, she was fully immersed in her family’s homestead—living and working on a farm that encompassed a wide spectrum of activities. They raised cattle, cared for horses, maintained flocks of poultry, and cultivated crops. She gained a full spectrum of skills—working with hand tools for detailed tasks and operating tractors and small farm equipment for larger operations. But her experience went beyond daily work—she was an active 4-H member for eight years. Through 4-H, she brought her animals and skills to county fairs across Ohio, winning multiple times in different categories—further sharpening her expertise and competitive edge. Her upbringing wasn’t simply a memory—it shaped her lifelong passion and skill set. As we embark on our own homesteading journey, her wealth of firsthand knowledge—gained over more than a decade, and proven through both hands-on experience and competition—will be the cornerstone of our farm’s success.
