Property Description
The Williams Farm Incubator Program provides access to land, training and resources to beginning farmers belonging to groups whose members have historically been subject to racial or ethnic prejudice. The goal of the program is to help these farmers hone their skills and develop independent sustainable farm businesses.

The Williams Farm Incubator Program is supported by funding through USDA Programs, which provides outreach and assistance for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers. USDA defines this group as: American Indians or Alaskan Natives, Asians, Blacks or African Americans, Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, and Veterans.

The farm has a large central outbuilding that houses a wash/pack facility, cold storage, tool storage and restrooms. The farm has a two-wheel tractor, and an assortment of hand tools are available for use by the incubator farmers.

The farm has been Certified Naturally Grown for close to 10 years.

The farm property is protected by Athens Land Trust.
Additional aspects
The farm has operated as no-till for the past 3 years. All plots consist of established permanent beds that are 30 inches wide and 50 feet long. Full plots consist of 22 of these beds, which is roughly 1/8 of an acre. Plots can be divided if farmers do not wish to rent the entire 22 beds.
