Property Description

6 acre Regenerative Permaculture orchard. Hundreds of fruit trees and berry bushes: blueberries, figs, plums, pears, elderberries, peaches, Japanese persimmon, mulberry, muscadine grapes, Russian pomegranates, goumi berries and more. Previously operated as a No-till market farm, much of our annual vegetable beds were planted with blueberries and fruit trees. Years of deep sheet mulching across tens of thousands of square feet has created incredibly fertile soil. There are multiple fenced paddocks and several housing options able to accommodate poultry. We have beekeeping equipment able to accommodate a dozen or more hives. The farm has been out of full time production for several years, but we have a food forest system full of production age fruit trees and berry bushes. There are many options available here ranging from a laying/meat bird flock, beekeeping, meat rabbit production, and a commercial kitchen on site that could be used to process fruits and veggies. There is space for doing annual vegetables, but not to a scale that some market farmers may desire. Our deep mulch no-till system would be ideally suited to perennial herbs/flowers, or annual crops like garlic, sweet potatoes, squash or melons. If you are interested in learning about regenerative agriculture, or utilizing your existing knowledge on a property set up to create a farming ecosystem focused on soil building and perennials, please reach out!
