Personal experience and production goals summary:

Starting a small farm has been not only a dream but a plan of mine (and my husband's) for the past 10 years. My dreams have been put on hold for a while as I moved cross country five times in support of my husband's career as a U.S. Army officer. As he now nears retirement, it seems like the right time to begin investing in our goal of starting a small cut flower farm. Georgia seems like a great location to get our hands dirty and learn a ton in the process. I will mostly be running the operation on my own but will be joined by my husband most weekends. I am hoping to find access to a small piece of land and to sign a 3-year lease to farm. Even without land access, I am working every day to educate myself and prepare for a future career as a flower farmer. I am open to opportunities in the Fayette county area related to farming and especially related to the growing of cut flowers or vegetavle production.
